Aero Advantage Participates in SAFE Flight Training Symposium
ATLANTA, Georgia, May 5, 2011 – This week Vincent Orlando, President/CEO of Aero Advantage, participated in the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) flight training symposium in Atlanta GA. SAFE organized this symposium to address the serious decline in General Aviation flight activity, pilot certification, aircraft sales and operational safety.
The two day symposium attracted an impressive array of industry leaders and speakers including a keynote presentation by the FAA administrator Randy Babbitt. The first day of the symposium was dedicated to presentations given by panels each addressing a core area of the general aviation flight training industry. The second day of the symposium was dedicated to breakout sessions where panel members led round table discussions to brainstorm and develop a list of actionable reforms. This list of reforms is then given to key industry stakeholders for consideration and action.
Vince Orlando participated in the Growth breakout session. This session was devoted to finding ways to grow the flight training industry by increasing new student starts and retaining current students. The groups lively discussion centered around a holistic approach to recruitment and retention. This ‘customer centric’ approach addresses the needs of the potential and current student with appropriate product offerings at each stage in the customers flight training ‘lifecycle’. The customer lifecycle model first starts with general aviation awareness, then moves to student pilot recruitment and retention and ends with pilot retention.
